Advocating Human Rights Education & Promoting The UDHR:
How to defend your rights, if you don’t know them?
Human rights are based on the principle of respect for the individual and the fundamental assumption that every person is a moral and rational being who deserves to be treated with dignity. They are called human rights because they are universal. Whereas nations or specialized groups enjoy specific rights that apply only to them, human rights apply to everyone.
By survey, most people have only a limited understanding of human rights. When asked to name their rights, many will list freedom of speech, belief and perhaps one or two others (actually 3 out of 30 Rights on average). There is no question these are important rights, but the full scope of human rights is far more comprehensive.
An individual who does not know their rights is not able to defend or demand them. Hence, education, and action, is vital in order to truly implement human rights.
As Ambassadors for Human Rights Education to several organisations, the Dorbayanis actively and voluntarily promote the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and educate youths and adults on their 30 Human Rights.
They raise the public awareness through a simple one to one session, to a large international conference; from conducting an art contest, to producing TV shows; from US to UK, to Central Europe and Middle East, everywhere they go, the promotion of Human Rights education is in their agenda. In their mission, they apply learning materials that are freely available and developed by the United Nations, Amnesty International and United for Human Rights.
They see the promotion of Human Rights awareness as their obligations towards humanity and they invite you to join the efforts too. They invite you to take actions by first learning your rights and then uniting and joining Human Rights organisations effective in safeguarding the articles of the Universal Declaration.
Empowering Conferences:
International ‘Empower’ Conference Series
It is one of the major international projects that the Dorbayanis are patiently involved with and strive to develop.
The International Empower Conference Series are conducted to:
- Provide in-depth insights on various strategic topics on global issues;
- Promote cultural diplomacy, peace and human rights education;
- Facilitate academic, cultural and business networking.
International Empower Conference Series are non-for-profit and they are organised predominantly to assist the empowerment of less privileged countries.
